Jabberwock 2017


  

The members of the Clinton (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., held its fourth Jabberwock on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, at Cain-Cochran Hall Auditorium.  The 2017 Jabberwock Gala, Loving the Skin I'm In…The Essence of Me’", was presented to an audience of family, friends, members, dignitaries, and sponsors.  Eleven beautiful young ladies gave guests in attendance an elegant and entertaining evening as they performed to “Rise Up” by Andra Day and waltzed to “You and I” by John Legend. They were adorned in white, show-stopping glamorous gowns.

The Honorable Adrienne Wooten, Mississippi House of Representatives, District 71, Hinds County, and Mr. Rob Jay, host of JSUTV Metro Morning Live and Metro Midday Live, emceed the event.  Miss Joy Is’Aish Jackson gave the Invocation and Ms. Kendra Lewis presented congratulations to the contestants.  Under the direction of Tiffany Jefferson, Hinds Community College’s Montage Theatre of Dance, Mississippi’s only multi-disciplinary dance theater company, performed a tribute to the late Prince Rogers Nelson, “The Artist”.   The highlight of the evening was the announcement of Little Miss Jabberwock, Junior Miss Jabberwock, and Miss Jabberwock. 

Little Miss Jabberwock: Miss Kamryn Ainsley Shelton.   First runner up: Miss Hannah Elizabeth Lipsey.  

Junior Miss Jabberwock:  Miss Sydney Joy Sampson.  First runner up: Miss Jaelynn Ciara Dixon.  Second runner up:  Miss Jordyn Faith Williams.

Miss Jabberwock: Miss Annissia Jalece Crump.  First runner up:  Miss Madison Cree Jones.  Second runner up:  Miss Mia Alece’ Sanders.

Miss Genesis Chelsey Graves participated in the Junior Miss Jabberwock category. Miss Ke’Asia Ya’nik Purvis and Miss Patzari Semaj’ Readus participated in the Miss Jabberwock category.

Miss Madison Cree Jones received the award for having the highest Grade Point Average, and Miss Sydney Joy Sampson received the Jabberwock Spirit award.

The event was an incredible success and on behalf of the Clinton (MS) Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. we would like to thank the parents, family, friends, members, sponsors, and gala attendees for their support.
